CONSTABLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Hogansburg man allegedly claimed he was injured in an accident that never happened.

State police say 34 year old Abraham Gray told Franklin County 911 dispatchers on July 28 that he was in a motorcycle accident in the town of Constable.

He was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where he was treated for a knee injury.

Troopers say they found out there was no crash and that Gray had been injured in another incident.

He was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and second-degree impersonation, both misdemeanors.

He was arraigned in Constable town court and initially released under probation supervision. Instead, he was taken to St. Regis Mohawk Police, who had an active warrant for his arrest.
