WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Trebuchets and catapults will sling pumpkins into the St. Lawrence River as part of the 8th Annual Punkin Chunkin & BBQ Contest, which is coming up this month in Clayton.
Mike Hooson of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce appeared on 7 News at Noon on Thursday to talk about the event. Watch his interview above.
It will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday, October 19 at Frink Park. 7 News anchor Jeff Cole is the emcee.
A farmers market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Barbecue will be served at 11 a.m., which is when the youth Punkin Chunkin begins.
The adult Punkin Chunkin starts at 1 p.m.
Shuttles will be provided to transport people from parking areas to the event.
