CARTHAGE, N.Y. (WWNY) - The farmers market season ended on a high note in Carthage Friday.
The Carthage High School jazz ensemble performed at the village pavilion for the last farmers market event of the year.
However, funding for music at the market was in jeopardy before the season started.
Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jeanette Turner says performances were a hit since the funding was secured.
"Having the music again did keep our attendance up. Plus, when people come to listen to the music, they also visit our stands and vendors and make purchases. So, having the music also benefits the vendors that are here," she said.
Carthage Area Hospital sponsored the music at the farmers market this year.
