CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - An Edwards man faces several charges after police busted what they describe as an ‘active mobile meth lab’ Saturday night.

Charged was Jesse Anson, 39.

Village police said they stopped Anson’s vehicle at about 5:30 PM and “during the course of that traffic stop an active mobile meth lab was found to be inside the vehicle," said James Stone, Canton police sergeant.

Anson’s vehicle and police ended up in the parking lot of the Mountain Mart convenience store on East Main Street. The area around the car was cordoned off.

State police responded with their Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.

Anson was charged with:

- Unlawful manufacture methamphetamine

- Criminal possession of a controlled substance

- Criminal impersonation

- Operating a motor vehicle while registration suspended

- Aggravated unlicensed operation

Anson pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail. His next court appearance is October 16.
