WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - It was a light night in local sports thanks to the weather Wednesday.
In one of a few match-ups, Jefferson Community College hosted Cayuga Community College in a men’s Midstate Conference soccer contest in the rain.
The Cannoneers, who lost two of their three contests so far this month, were hoping to turn things around.
Less than 10 minutes in, however, Cayuga was on the board first when Dennis Bates came up with the loose ball in front and dented the back of the net.
Moments later, Cayuga expanded its lead to 2-0 when Adam Gregson goes far corner for the tally.
JCC cut into the Cayuga lead when Mac Lazar got the deflection in front and scored, leaving the Cannoneers down 2-1.
But Cayuga went on to beat JCC by a final score of 4-2.
