WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Watertown Fire Department made quick of a fire at Gabriel Courts Apartments this afternoon.
The fire started just before 4 p.m. in the living room of Apartment C in building 222. It took emergency crews less than an hour to knock it down.
According to Fire Chief Dale Herman, there were no injuries, but he believes the person who lives in the apartment won’t be able to stay there overnight. Herman says flames damaged the living room, with smoke damage reaching the second floor.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Herman says it was most likely an accident.
