PHILADELPHIA, N.Y. (WWNY) - It was another football Friday night around the north country with plenty of gridiron action. For most of the teams, with the exception of Class A, the last game of the regular season.
In Section 3 Class A football from Philadelphia, Indian River hosted Central Square. The Warriors scored on their 1st series as Guillermo Rosario Acosta took it in from 2 yards out to put the Warriors in front 6-0.
Still in the 1st, it was Robert Alexander with the connection to Rosario Acosta as Indian River expanded it’s lead to 14-0. The Warriors go on to beat Central Square 55-18.
In Adams there was a Section 3 Class B football battle between two 5-1 teams as the Spartans hosted Marcellus. The Mustangs got on the board first when Nicholas Kermes took it in from a couple of yards out. Score: 7-0 Marcellus.
The Spartans answered. It was Austin Mesler over the middle to Colden Montague who took it in for the touchdown, score: 7-6 Mustangs. Marcellus beat South Jeff 34-28.
In Lowville, a Section 3 Class C matchup as the undefeated Red Raiders hosted Herkimer. In the 1st quarter, Chad Bach airs it out to Gavin MaCaulay for a 51 yard touchdown to put the Red Raiders up 6-0. Still in the 1st, Bach tosses his 2nd touchdown pass to MaCaulay. Score: 14-0 Lowville.
In the 2nd quarter, Issac Lyndaker takes it in from a couple of yards out. Lowville finishes an undefeate regular season, beating Herkimer 56-24.
In Section 3 Class C football from Dexter, the General Brown Lions faced Hannibal. In the 3rd quarter the Lions clinged to a 7-0 lead as Chandler Moody breaks tackles and finds paydirt, increasing the Lions lead to 14-0.
Then it was Eli Rawleigh with a touchdown pass to Brandon Farr, Lions on top 21-0. General Brown beats Hannibal 28-0.
In N.A.C. football, Potsdam was at O.F.A. Jackson Jones hit MeSean Johnson for the touchdown. Score: 16-0 O.F.A. Then it was Jones to Harry Powers to put O.F.A. up 24-0.
Logan McCarger returns the ensuing kick for the touchdown, but O.F.A. beats Potsdam 48-16.
In Massena, the Red Raiders hosted St. Lawrence Central. Steve Horner put the Larries up 7-0, then Christian McSurdy answered for Massena. But the Red Raiders trailed 7-6.
Torran Robertson hauls in a touchdown pass, putting St. Lawrence Central up 14-6. St. Lawrence Central beats Massena 28-19.
