LOWVILLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Lowville teen is behind bars after allegedly making a threat on the social media platform Snapchat earlier this week.
Lowville police charged 18 year old Chad Calkins of Lowville WITH making a terroristic threat Thursday, along with resisting arrest.
Police say Calkins posted threatening remarks referring to a school event on his Snapchat “story," which was viewable by his friends.
While Calkins is facing charges, police say they don't believe the public was ever in any danger.
Calkins was arraigned in village court Friday and sent to the Lewis County Jail with bail set at $7,500 cash.
