HARRISVILLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - A new sign has been posted in Harrisville as a piece of property gets redeveloped.

Officials with the Development Authority of the North Country and Lewis County unveiled a sign at the new Harrisville Recycling Transfer Station.

The transfer station is on the site of the old Harrisville Dry Kilns business which closed in 2013.

The facility isn't open yet; the sign unveiling was just a dedication ceremony.

There’s no word when it will open. The facility could cut costs for counties like Lewis and St. Lawrence, which incur big expenses for transporting recyclables.
