WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Construction work in Watertown will extend the Black River Trail.

Crews are digging along Eastern Boulevard in the city. Right now the Black River Trail runs from the village of Black River to Watertown, coming in the city at the East Hills apartment complex.

This work will extend the trail down Eastern Boulevard over to Huntington Street, where another paved running and bike trail currently exists.

When finished, bikers, walkers and runners will be able to go from Huntington Street to the village of Black River on a paved trail system.

This work is expected to be complete by next summer.
