POTSDAM, N.Y. (WWNY) - A pair of Section X soccer teams fell in state play at Potsdam High School Wednesday night.

In boys' Class A, it was Malone vs. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake,

Malone's Hans Schumacher crosses to Trent King for the game's first goal, putting the score at 1-0 Malone.

Owen Muller puts the moves on the Malone defense and scores for the Spartans, tying the game 1-1.

Muller scored again from close range.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake went on to defeat Malone 5-1.

Brushton-Moira and AuSable Valley faced off in girls' Class C.

The Patriots went on the scoreboard first. Lilley Keyser passed to Jenna Stanley for the opening goal to put AuSable on top 1-0.

With Brushton-Moira struggling to clear, Kate Knapp boots the rebound into the mesh, making it 2-0 AuSable.

Kyla Phelan scored late for the Panthers, but AuSable Valley advanced to the state quarterfinals with a 3-1 win over Brushton-Moira.
