WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - There's a handful of players who are synonymous with the Watertown Red & Black.
One of those men is hanging up his cleats after a record-breaking career.
In 12 seasons covering 117 games, Joe Brennan set records for the Red & Black, including 1, 427 carries for 7, 532 yards and 70 touchdowns.
He averaged 5.3 yards a carry during his career, one that he is calling a career with his retirement.
"I never started playing because I wanted to break records, it wasn't until I got a few years into my career that I really started setting those goals," he said. "I just played because I wanted to play football and the only place I want to do it was for the Watertown Red & Black."
Brennan said he's retiring now so he can spend more time with family.
