CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Grinch came early and stole an awful lot in Canton.

Close to $4,000 worth of Christmas gifts, including pajamas, children's clothing and Lego sets were all stolen from boxes. The Canton Church and Community Giving Tree had them stored in the basement.

Organizers are not even sure what to put on Giving Tree tags now. So they're asking for help.

"We are most concerned about the pajamas because we normally give one pair to every child - a brand new pair of pajamas for Christmas," said Fran Bailey, Giving Tree board vice president.

Donations of pajamas, children’s clothing and money can be brought to the Church and Community Thrift Shop at 7 Main Street in Canton.
