wwny WWNY’s time capsule items on display at historical society

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - It's your first chance to look back in time.

The Jefferson County Historical Society has set up a display of all the items of our WWNY time capsule, 50 years of history, which we opened up two weeks ago.

You'll see photos of downtown, a copy of the Watertown Daily Times and programming logs for both WWNY television and radio.

The display cases chosen are from the original F.W. Woolworth store which was, at that time, thriving in the heart of downtown.

To make the display more user friendly, the historical society collections committee members are adding their own touches.

Visitors are being asked for opinions on what items from today should be put in the next time capsule when 7 News buries it again next year.

Your first chance to take a look will be Saturday. The historical society is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. then Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
