WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) -A cold start to the weekend with temperatures averaging well below average. With the cold air comes the risk of lake effect snow. Expect the winds to become more favorable after midnight, with the potential for an inch or two. Lows will be around 20.

Any snow showers will quickly move out of the area by mid morning on Saturday, with some sunshine expected. Highs will only be in the middle to upper 30′s. Saturday night will be mainly cloudy with lows near 30.

Sunday will be cloudy and breezy with some rain and snow. Highs will be in the low to mid 40′s. Temperatures take a tumble overnight with lows in the 20′s.

Monday will be cold with snow likely. There is the potential for area wide snow right through Tuesday with significant accumulations possible. Temperatures will be well below average the entire week.
