LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. (WWNY) - Lewis County Hospice is trying to help people navigate their end of life wishes.
Hospice is hosting free screenings of the PBS documentary "Being Mortal" in honor of Hospice Awareness Month.
The documentary explores what matters most to patients and families facing serious illness and death.
Katie Root, a social worker with Lewis County Hospice, says it's important for people to have these discussions with family before they get close to the end of their lives.
"It's about balance at the end of your life and how you want your balance to look like. Do you want to prioritize going fishing? Do you want to prioritize aggressive treatment? It's a question of what are your priories and how do you want to go about it," she said.
A discussion follows the documentary.
