Police nab man wanted in North Carolina robbery

North Carolina suspect nabbed

TOWN OF PAMELIA, N.Y. (WWNY) - Following a chase and search in Jefferson County, state police have nabbed a man wanted for robbery in North Carolina.

Troopers said they stopped a vehicle on Route 37 in the town of Pamelia Monday morning, but the man inside fled the scene. Police chased him through nearby woods and a swamp.

Police used a K9, a drone and a helicopter to search for the man, who was taken into custody Monday afternoon.

He’s identified as 23 year old Sherwin Tann Jr. of Murfreesboro, North Carolina

Tann was charged as a fugitive from justice from North Carolina, arraigned in Pamelia Town Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail without bail.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and members from the NYS Forest Rangers.
