WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Thirty short-term positions are open for those looking to get their hands on a solar project in the town of Clayton.
Phase one of a new solar farm on Blanchard Road is a project efforted by Oya Solar out of Toronto.
The company is looking for solar installers, rack installers and skilled laborers to work for $17 an hour.
The WorkPlace in Watertown is holding a recruiting session Tuesday to fill the new jobs.
The positions are short-term.
The WorkPlace Executive Director Cheryl Mayforth says they'll work for approximately six to eight weeks on the project.
“You just never know on some of these projects, but yes, it is short term, for a limited period of time while they construct this field,” she said.
The recruit session will take place at The WorkPlace on Coffeen Street in Watertown from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Requirements include construction experience and two valid forms of identification.
