WADDINGTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Waddington Thursday.

St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say one of their patrols came upon the crash scene on State Route 37 around 6 p.m.

Their investigation showed that 72 year old Judith Buchardt of Waddington was driving northeast when her vehicle crashed into one driven by 94 year old Ray Kentner of Lisbon.

Deputies say it appeared as if Buchardt was unable to avoid the collision when she came upon Kentner’s vehicle in her lane while he was trying to negotiate a three-point turn.

Kentner was taken to the Ogdensburg International Airport, where he was flown by LifeNet to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Buchardt suffered minor injuries and was taken to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center for treatment.

Deputies say their investigation is pending. They were assisted at the scene by state police and the Waddington Fire Department.
