SPCA: Baby Girl the ferret

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Jefferson County SPCA operations manager Katelynn Drohan brought a ferret with her to the 7 news studio.

Her name is Baby Girl. She's about a year old and will be ready for adoption when the shelter opens on Tuesday.

Drohan also talked about something the SPCA did over Thanksgiving.

They sent shelter dogs home with people for the holiday.

So far, none have been returned.

Davidson Nissan is hosting a Christmas tree competition for local nonprofits and one of them is the SPCA's. People are invited to help decorate the tree -- and help it win -- by making ornaments.

There's an ornament craft day at the dealership from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 7.

The SPCA is again hosting Photos with Santa at its Watertown Petco location.

It's from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 7.

It costs a donation of $9.95.

Any friendly pet is welcome.

For more information on adopting an animal, volunteering, becoming a member, or donating, call the shelter at 315-782-3260.
