WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Every child has something special in mind that they'd like to see under the Christmas tree this year and you could be the one to provide it.
Each year, the Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County puts on a Holiday Angel Tree.
Needy families of the area fill out applications that list their child’s Christmas wish.
Generous community members can choose an “angel” and fulfill that wish.
Last year, 2,400 children were granted their Christmas wishes.
With the help of the community, the CAPC would like to achieve that again.
“So many families struggle all year long and the thought of Christmas coming is a huge stressor on a lot of families. To know that their child’s special wish can be able to get them that for Christmas is huge,” said Mary Mathewson, director of the Family Center.
There are multiple angel trees across Jefferson County. Some locations are still accepting applications to be angels.
Gifts should be dropped off by December 16.
