WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - If you typically drive through Watertown’s Public Square in the late afternoon and evening, you might want to take a different route Thursday.
City public works crews will be shutting down some downtown streets to prepare for the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting.
The north side of Public Square will be closed to all traffic starting at 3 p.m. Westbound traffic from State, Mill, and Factory streets will be detoured.
The south side of Public Square will stay open to eastbound traffic.
Court Street will be closed to all traffic starting at 4:45 p.m.
Live musical performances start at 5:45 p.m., the parade starts at 6:30 p.m., and the tree lighting ceremony is at 7:15 p.m.
