WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Christmas market is popping up in Watertown’s Public Square this weekend.
It's the first-ever Merry Market put on by the Greater Watertown-North County Chamber of Commerce.
Twenty local vendors are setting up in the Woolworth Building for Friday and Saturday.
Jessica Piatt Walczyk is the chamber’s director of marketing. She says the community is excited to see all the people the pop-up market will bring downtown.
"A lot of the excitement is focused on an event happening downtown and wanting to see more of that generated," she said. "I think a lot of people are excited to see this space lit up and see that the Woolworth Building has a lot of potential, that downtown as a whole has a ton of potential."
The market is open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
