WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County is helping bring holiday cheer to some of the families it serves.

Volunteers were busy Monday night wrapping dozens of donated presents.

The gifts will go to more than 20 families in need this holiday season.

Executive director Jill Parker says helping out is part of the agency's mission.

"A lot of families that are coming though the agency have suffered through trauma, have been displaced in their family," she said, "so in agency we know it's imperative to help a family in their situation and help them move past their circumstances."

People can drop off gifts at the Victims Assistance Center until December 13.
