Red Raiders looking for another long postseason run

Thursday morning sports wrap

LOWVILLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Lowville boys' basketball team was just one win away from a state title last season and are hoping for another long postseason run this time around.

The Red Raiders' special season ended in a state Class B final loss to Joe Girard and Glens Falls.

Key pieces have returned from that 22-3 squad that was undefeated in league play.

"Last year was a great experience for us, hopefully we can use some of that experience with some of the guys coming back going forwards this year," coach Zach Shambo said. "I think the hard part is understanding that we have to reset and we have to start from the bottom again."

There’s more from the coach in the video, plus comments from players Aiden Zehr and Aidan Macaulay.
