CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - The jury in Lawrence Robinson’s rape and sexual abuse trial returned not guilty verdicts on three of four charges against him. The jury was deadlocked on the fourth charge and the judge declared a mistrial.
In St. Lawrence County Court Thursday morning, the jury returned not guilty verdicts on a charge of rape and two charges of sexual abuse involving a 15 year old girl in 2016.
The jury resumed deliberations on another sexual abuse charge, this one involving another girl who is younger than the first. Thursday afternoon, the jury said it was deadlocked and the judge declared a mistrial. This means Robinson could be brought back to face another trial on that one count of sexual abuse.
The jury began its deliberations on Wednesday.
Robinson was indicted on the charges in April.
