LAWRENCE, N.Y. (WWNY) - Fire destroyed a trailer home overnight at 469 County Route 51 in the town of Lawrence.
Nicholville Fire Chief Justin Sweet said a neighbor called 911 just after midnight to report the fire.
In addition to Nicholville, five other fire departments were called in. Firefighters were on-scene until after 4 a.m.
A family of three lived there, but no one was home at the time. There were no injuries to firefighters.
Volunteers from the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to three people affected by the fire.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing to one adult and two children, ages 8 and 10. Volunteers also offered emotional support and comfort kits containing personal care items and stuffed animals for the children.
In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Other fire departments on-scene were Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson, Brasher-Winthrop, Lawrenceville, North Lawrence, and Norfolk. Tri-Town Rescue also responded.
