SPCA: Scooby & holiday fostering

SPCA: Scooby

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Scooby is a special needs dog.

Jefferson County SPCA executive director Heath Spezzano says he came from the CNY SPCA in Syracuse.

He's partially blind, so he needs people who have a little extra time to take care of him.

He's a very sweet guy and greets even strangers with kisses.

The SPCA is repeating its holiday foster program. That’s where people volunteer to take a dog home for the holiday to give the pets a break from shelter life.

They first tried it at Thanksgiving and are trying it again for Christmas.

Most of the dogs got out of the shelter for Thanksgiving and all but one of them were adopted by the families that took them in.

People are welcome to foster a dog from December 18-24.

There’s no commitment to adopt the dog afterward.

For more information on adopting an animal, volunteering, becoming a member, or donating, call the shelter at 315-782-3260.
