COPENHAGEN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Copenhagen boys' basketball team is off to a 2-1 start.
The Golden Knights' lone loss coming in an overtime thriller against Lyme.
Copenhagen posted a 13-8 overall mark last season, 7-5 in the Frontier League.
The Golden Knights return with three leading scorers from last year's team.
"We finished third place the last two years and returning, I'd say, about 90 percent of our scoring from a year ago," coach Logan Spaulding said, "and these boys, they're a year older and the experience, I believe, is going to hopefully bode well for them this year."
“I definitely think we can accomplish a ton and I think everybody thinks that on the team,” player Cody Powis said, “and I think the past years have been kind of intimidated coming into a few of the games and this year, I think, we’re just going to be more confident and knowing that we can do something special.”
