WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - On Saturday, those who went to send their packages and mail out at the Watertown Post Office were greeted by someone green.

The Grinch made an appearance on Commerce Park Drive in Watertown, greeting guests as they delivered last minute mail before Christmas.

Families were treated to Grinch-inspired cupcakes and refreshments and stopped to take pictures. With lines getting long at the post office this year, workers say this helps keep the kids entertained.

“It’s just an awesome thing. We call it our time to shine, giving us the opportunity to go that extra mile for our customers and to provide that excellent service that the country is used to getting,” said Sharon Larkin, the Northern Tier Post Officer Operations Manager.

Postal officials recommend sending packages out by express delivery no later than Monday so they arrive on time for the holidays.
