Cuomo proposes project to rebuild Whiteface Mountain lodge

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (WWNY) - Governor Cuomo is proposing to set aside $14 million to rebuild the mid-station lodge at Whiteface Mountain, which was destroyed by fire in November.
The proposal is another part of Cuomo’s State of the State Address. The $14 million project would replace the mid-station lodge with a 10 thousand square foot structure.
In a press release, Cuomo says the new lodge would offer food and drinks, a large dining area and expansive viewing deck. The first phase of construction could get completed by November 2020.
