WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Local lawyer Marcy Robinson Dembs, a partner with Barclay Damon, appeared on 7 News at Noon on Monday to talk about the SECURE Act, which was just signed into law and changes retirement plans significantly.
Watch her interview above.
The SECURE Act, which stands for Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement, is designed to help more people set aside more money for retirement.
It also raises the age that Americans must start drawing from retirement savings from 70½ to 72.
In addition, the SECURE Act requires people to withdraw all assets of an inherited account within 10 years.
