Clayton man suffers head injuries in Route 12E crash

CLAYTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Clayton man suffered serious head injuries in an accident that shut down part of State Route 12E Monday night.

State police say a vehicle driven by 30 year old Christopher Larkins was traveling west in the town of Clayton shortly after 7:30 p.m. when it when off the road and hit two utility poles.

Larkins was trapped inside and rescuers used the jaws of life to get him out.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment. Larkins was listed in good condition at the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The highway was closed for about an hour and a half.
