Student hurt in school bus crash in Dexter

DEXTER, N.Y. (WWNY) - Officials said one student was injured Friday afternoon when a General Brown Central School bus and sport utility vehicle collided.

The crash happened at around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Brown Street in the village of Dexter.

Officials said 17 students were on board the school bus when the collision occurred.

One student was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, according to officials.

Officials said the other students walked to the nearby Dexter Fire Department to get warm; a number of parents picked up their children there.

7 News has reached out to the superintendent of the General Brown Central School District for comment. We’ll update this story when we get more information.
