Snowtown USA continues with a snowy softball competition
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Watertown’s Snowtown USA is in full swing this weekend.
The festivities continued Saturday with the annual softball tournament held at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
The tournament was cancelled last year after temperatures fell too far below zero.
While temperature was still cold Saturday morning, organizers say it’s always fun for those involved.
“It makes it a little bit more challenging than when you play in the summer. You’re not gonna get the bounces you would from a ball, people are going to slip around the bases. It gives them a chance to play a summer game in the wintertime and they have a lot of fun with it," said David Daily, a committee member of Snowtown USA.
Teams played the best out of three games. The winning team was presented with a trophy.
