WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - There’s an event coming up in a few months to help raise awareness of a rare, incurable disease.
Organizer Andrea Carr says the Miles for Moose Relay Walk will raise money to help find a cure for a rare disease called cystinosis, which has inflicted her grandson Benson.
The event is from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 in Thompson Park in Watertown.
Cyctinosis Awareness Day is May 7.
The walk is 57 miles, but it's a team event, so it can be split up among three to 15 team members.
Volunteers and vendors are needed.
Proceeds will go to cystinosis.org.
You can sign up on the Miles for Moose Facebook page.
