Mel's Sports History: a sharpshooting Ventiquattro

CARTHAGE, N.Y. (WWNY) - There was a little Ventiquattro in 1998 who was winning honors -- not for lacrosse, but for basketball foul shooting.

He was 4-feet-5 and 65 pounds, but at the foul line, fourth grader Mario Ventiquattro was a giant.

Mel caught up with the son of legendary Carthage lacrosse coach Kurt Ventiquattro as Mario was about to head to Springfield, Massachusetts for the Elks Hoop Shoot national finals.

His story is in the video.
