Harris takes command of 2nd BCT in Fort Drum Ceremony

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (WWNY) - The 2nd Brigade Combat Team on Fort Drum has a new leader.

Col. Damon Harris took command of the brigade Thursday in a ceremony on post.

Harris has more than 20 years' experience in the Army and has served in multiple deployments: two to Afghanistan, one to Iraq.

He joins the brigade from Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan.

He replaces Col. Paul Larson, who had commanded the 2nd BCT for two years.
