ALBANY, N.Y. (WWNY) - The state set a new record Tuesday.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that 87,776 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state, a new single-day record.
Of those tested, .79 percent were positive. The rate has generally been around 1 percent.
The north country’s rate Tuesday was .1 percent.
Seven people died from the disease Tuesday and 558 were hospitalized. Of the 123 people in intensive care, 62 were on ventilators.
