WASHINGTON (WWNY) - Thousands of U.S. soldiers are set to return from the Middle East.

By November, more than 2,000 soldiers will return from Iraq and 3,000 from Afghanistan.

About 7,500 troops will remain in the two countries.

No word yet what this means for Fort Drum.

The 10th Mountain Division’s Headquarters, including Maj. Gen. Brian Mennes, is currently deployed to Afghanistan.
