Nearly 800 people were dying each day from the coronavirus in early April.
The infection rate remains low at .88 percent. That’s out of nearly 90,000 tests reported to the state on Thursday.
The north country’s rate is less than half that at .4 percent.
There were 478 people in hospitals because of the illness, including 141 in intensive care and 62 on ventilators.
