CROGHAN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Lewis County firefighters battled a wildfire for about two hours Monday afternoon.
Dispatchers say the call came in around 4 p.m. from someone who saw the blaze behind a home on Old State Road in the town of Croghan.
When firefighters arrived from Castorland and Beaver Falls, they saw about an acre of woods on fire.
An engine and tanker from Croghan were called in to help.
No cause has been listed.
