ALBANY, N.Y. (WWNY) - California has been added to the state’s quarantine list and Gov. Andrew Cuomo is discouraging non-essential travel to neighboring Massachusetts.

Like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut, Massachusetts meets New York’s travel advisory criteria, but Cuomo says it’s too difficult to enforce a quarantine because the states are too interconnected.

Cuomo is discouraging travel to and from all four states.

People traveling to New York from the states and territories on the travel advisory must self-quarantine for 14 days.

The list includes 41 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
