WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - If you’re a student at Clarkson University, you can choose to be tested for COVID-19 before you head home for Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, SUNY students must take a test and test negative before they can leave.
Clarkson announced Wednesday that all students will be given the option to receive a test before they depart campus on November 24.
The college is offering the tests as a way to prevent the spread the coronavirus to other parts of the country.
Students need to fill out the testing request form by Wednesday, November 4.
“As of today, we have no students in isolation and no active known cases of COVID-19 among our faculty, staff or students. Out of 6500+ random tests administered on campus since the semester began in August, we have only seen six positive cases and all have recovered,” said Brian Grant, vice president for Enrollment and Student Affairs.
The tests are available to all Clarkson students who are taking at least one class on campus or working on campus.
On Tuesday, SUNY announced it’s requiring students to test negative for the coronavirus before they can leave for Thanksgiving break.
