WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Midnight diners, rejoice.
Denny’s is reopening in Watertown.
Cheryl Mayforth, executive director of The WorkPlace in Watertown, said she was told the restaurant plans to reopen next Monday and is trying to hire cooks and servers.
Denny’s was an early casualty of the pandemic. The owner of the Arsenal Street restaurant announced in May it was permanently laying off 35 full and part-time workers.
The restaurant had closed and let workers go temporarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic and rules against serving sit-down meals.
The owners told local officials in a letter that financial circumstances because of the pandemic forced them to close permanently.
It was not clear how many employees the newly reopened Denny’s will have.
