CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - The tri-county region reported 71 new cases of COVID-19 since the weekend. There are now 21 people in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties who are hospitalized due to the coronavirus.
St. Lawrence County Public Health said 40 people tested positive since the weekend, bringing the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began to 502.
Twenty six of the positive cases were reported over the weekend and another 14 were reported Monday.
Officials said 74 cases are active and 11 people are hospitalized.
According to the county, 423 cases have been released from isolation.
To date, 94,856 people have been tested for the coronavirus in the county.
There were 14 new cases to report in Jefferson County since the weekend.
Three people are hospitalized; 36 people are in mandatory isolation and 337 are in mandatory quarantine.
Since the pandemic began, the county has seen 395 positive cases and performed 28,954 tests.
The county says 342 cases have recovered from the coronavirus.
Lewis County announced 4 new cases Monday. That’s on top of the 13 new cases over the weekend.
The county has had a total of 193 cases since the pandemic began.
Officials said 71 of the recent cases are connected to an October 11 religious gathering at the Apostolic Christian Church in the town of New Bremen.
The county Public Health Agency said Monday that 7 people are hospitalized and 46 are in isolation.
Another 353 people are under quarantine.
Since the pandemic began, 147 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
