WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - State police were seen digging up soil on a property in the St. Lawrence County town of Edwards Tuesday.
Troopers would only confirm that they were “following up on a tip on an older case.”
State police and a backhoe were seen on the old Noble Farm property off County Route 24, also known as Edwards-Russell Road.
Edwards Town Supervisor Jan Lennox told 7 News state police used the town’s backhoe for the investigation.
7 News specifically asked troopers what they were searching for, but declined to comment.
St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary Pasqua said Tuesday, he knew nothing about the investigation.
