Woman critically injured in Route 11 crash near Potsdam

TOWN OF POTSDAM, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Canton woman is in critical but stable condition following a head-on crash on Route 11 in the town of Potsdam Thursday.

State police said 33 year old Amanda Young suffered a compound fracture on her left arm and shattered elbow.

She’s hospitalized at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

Troopers said her SUV and a Verizon truck driven by 46 year old Robert Stevenson of Syracuse collided head-on on Route 11 near Morgan and Dayton roads, not far from Walmart.

Police said Stevenson had a minor cut to his hand.

Route 11 was closed around 4:45 p.m.

State police were on the scene along with Potsdam Rescue, the Potsdam Fire Department, and the West Potsdam Fire Department.
