COLTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - A student at Colton-Pierrepont Central has tested positive for COVID-19, so the district is sending students home early Tuesday.
Students were being released at 11 a.m. Special Education students in a BOCES program will still attend in-person and be transported.
Students known to have had contact with the infected student won’t be allowed on buses, the district says. Their parents are being notified to come pick them up.
Staff who had been on contact with the student who tested positive will go home immediately.
District officials say they will work with Public Health to determine when it’s safe to return to in-person learning.
