CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - One new COVID-19 death and another 188 positive cases were reported Tuesday in the tri-county region.

St. Lawrence County Public Health said Tuesday that another person has died from COVID-19. To date, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 47 people in the county.
Officials also said 78 more people have tested positive for COVID, bringing the total number of confirmed positive cases to date to 2,763.
Officials said 743 cases are active and 23 people are hospitalized.
According to the county, 1,973 cases have been released from isolation.
There were 68 new cases to report in Jefferson County Tuesday.
Nineteen people are hospitalized; 505 people are in mandatory isolation and 970 are in mandatory quarantine.
Since the pandemic began, 13 people have died from COVID and the county has seen 2,514 positive cases.
The county says 1,973 cases have recovered from the coronavirus.
Lewis County reported 42 new cases Tuesday.
The county has had a total of 950 cases since the pandemic began.
The county Public Health Agency said Tuesday that 19 people are hospitalized and 199 are in isolation.
Another 464 people are under quarantine.
Since the pandemic began, 12 people have died from COVID, while 739 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
